Getting ready for Mists of Pandaria: The MoP Stockpile

It might seem too early for some and I’d agree where Cataclysm items are concerned, but for everything else now is as good a time as any. I will be focusing on ore, leather and enchanting materials. I think that JC/BS will either still be best profession slots for raiders or at least be on par with the other professions in MoP.

Ores/bars

As these materials are used by engineering, blacksmithing and jewelcrafting this will be the largest part of my stockpile. Bars will take less room generally but I want to make sure I have some in ore form for prospecting.

Tin, Mithril, Thorium, Fel iron, Adamantite, Khorium, Eternium, Cobalt, Saronite, Titanium.

Gems via prospecting iron ore, mithril ore, thorium ore

Leather

For leather I will be looking at building up a stockpile of all leather and all hides. Leather prices here are already very high. Rugged leather and thick leather are usually north of 150g/stack, medium and heavy around 80g/stack. With the new class Monk being a leather wearing class I think it is safe to say there will be more LW in MoP.

Enchanting materials

Mainly focusing on Strange dust, Illusion dust, Greater eternal essence, Large brilliant shards, Arcane dust, Greater planar essence, Infinite dust. I will also stockpile all the materials for enchanting rods.

To store these items I am in the process of setting up several new Gbanks on my second account. I am advertising to buy any level guilds with 5/6 bank tabs, you are giving up on the naming of the guild but saving money compared to setting it up yourself. I will  buy/make 7 new guilds for my second account probably 5 Horde 2 Alliance.

What will you stockpile?

  1. If you have a JC i would prospect a lot of ore for those types you mentioned since most people buy the gems directly most of the time to save time. I have been flipping those gems on my server and relisting at an insane price and they sell. but that is server specific, but i know that you can sell them either way prices will vary basically.

  2. Yup you can use Tuj it will tell you price of ore and value of ore prospected on average. i think the big plan is to have 80-90 bank tabs of stuff ready to sell in MoP, things that will move fast, at a good price, very low risk.

  3. If you have access to a tailor, netherweave bolts are a great item to stockpile. 16 slot bags will sell like hotcakes once people have access to monks and pandas. I'm also keeping a lot of the Zephyrite I prospect from shuffling - they can be resold for much more during MoP for people leveling JC.

  4. I've been selling a lot of bags recently, will have to keep some back when we get a little closer, i'm holding back a lot of the uncommon cata gems either to sell raw or turn into enchanting mats, hopefully i can pick up some cheap cata ore near the end.
